Fine Would Be a ‘Blow’ to Berlusconi’s Holding Company

The New York Times - Silvio Berlusconi’s daughter Marina, head of his Fininvest holding company, said in an interview that a court order to pay €750 million in damages to a rival put the company’s future development at risk. A week ago, a Milan court ruled that Fininvest, which owns 38.6 percent of the largest private broadcaster in Italy, Mediaset, pay about $1.1 billion to competitor CIR for bribing a judge in a 1991 battle to buy the publisher Mondadori.
